Women’s Basketball Snap 8-Game Losing Streak

The women’s basketball team has been throight what many would consider a rough patch this season after starting with a 9-1 record going in to early December. The ladies started trying to fill a void after losing more than 50% of their scoring offense. It seemed like Coach Mitchell had his girls ready to go for the season. Then a couple of losses snowballed in to a lot of questions and a team looking for the answers.

The 8-game losing streak started with road trips to FGCU and Miami. Coming back home, the ladies were defeated by No. 3 Louisville and No. 24Cal, followed by losses @MTSU, vs. No. 8 Tennessee, @ No.17 TAMU, and vs. UGA. All of that ended with a win at Florida on Thursday 56-53. The win was led by G Taylor Murray (19 pts) and G Amanda Paschal (12) both making two 3 pointers each.

The Wildcats (9-9) will travel to Vanderbilt on Monday at 7:00pm on SECN before returning back home to host No. 9 South Carolina on January 21 at Noon on ESPNU.
