What a week for Volleyball & Lilley
UK Volleyball under Coach Craig Skinner has had their way with Ole Miss. Since 2010, UK is 19-4 vs. the Rebels. They have won the last thirteen meetings and swept the last five. This match capped off a week that saw the UK win its 900th match in program history, remain undefeated in SEC play, continue a 9 game win streak, lead the SEC in hitting percentage and kills, Have the leading hitting percentage player in the SEC (#15 Brooke Morgan – SR MB) and your libero sets a career record of 23 digs in a 3 set match, which also ties for second in the SEC this year. WHAT A WEEK!
Today, it was announced that Madison Lilley earned SEC player of the week and setter of the week honors. It is the 4th time in her career that she was named the player of the week and the 13th time she was named setter of the week.
She had 50 assists in the match against Tennessee and averaged 13.5 assists per set in the seven sets played last week. Against the Vols she not only reached 50 assists for the fourth time this season she also matched a career record six kills, had four service aces and 9 digs, leaving her just short of hitting a double-double for the sixth time in her young career.
