Coach's Corner - UK VB extends lead in SEC

November 10, 2018

Kentucky Volleyball is ranked 8th in the latest RPI and is on the longest win streak in the Coach Skinner Era.

UK is on a sixteen (16) match win streak abd has swept the last five (5) matches. THe lades have only lost six (6) sets durning this span.

The Wildcats last loss came on the road at #6 Texas.

The defnse led the way again lastnight holding the bulldogs to a .172 hitting percentage and did not give up a service ace in the match.

The floor defense was strong again with 47 digs. Gabby Curry continued to improve her play and had 22 digs in the three set match. Nine Wildcats registered a dig on the stat sheet.

At the net Kentucky had 8 block, led by Brooke Morgan with 2 solo and 4 assists. Seven Wildcats had blocks in the match. I really like how this is a team effort, everyone that comes into the match contributes in a positve way.

Offensivly, UK was led by Leah Edmond with 10 kills and two aces. Alli Stumler continued to have an outstanding freshman season with 6 kills, 3 digs, 1 block assist and a career high 5 aces in the 3 set match. The ladies continued to hit the ball very well and had a team hit percentage of .314, four players hit over .400 for the match.

UK will take hte court this Sunday at 1:30pm against Alabama.
